The series is a manifestation of my narrative style of figurative painting. I work directly with resource materials from films, advertising, and cosmetic videos. Here, the work often beyond close-up imagery to reinterpret figures within their context, creating "scenes" where female bodies are enacting or being subjected to "beauty moments." These paintings are invested in examining fiction versus reality –historical fiction and contemporary mediated reality– aiming to reflect on the methods and contexts of aesthetic knowledge production.
